DIXONVILLE, Pa. – A man was arrested and charged with burglary at an Indiana County convenience store on May 6.
Christopher Anthony Dilts, 19, of Clymer, was arrested after police released CCTV footage.
He was charged with counts of burglary, robbery by unlawful taking and criminal trespass, as well as a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.
Dilts was arraigned May 18 and taken to Indiana County Jail on $25,000 bond.
Police said around 9:46 p.m. May 6 that Dilts smashed a side window with a pair of pliers at Dixonville Food N Gas on Route 403 in Green Township.
Once inside, police say he stole $3,880.31 worth of cigarettes and vaping devices. Before fleeing the scene, police said he left behind the pliers he used to smash the window.
At around 10:38 p.m., CCTV showed Dilts returning to the store, entering through the shattered window and grabbing the pair of pliers, police said. The store’s burglar alarm went off about 20 seconds later.
Total damage to the storefront and interior of the storefront is approximately $1,399.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dilts on June 13.
