Top tips for traveling with your vaping gear

Without a doubt, vaping is a fashionable habit these days. If you’re planning a vacation and want to pack your vaping gear, here are some tips you should consider.

Although vaping is widespread and well-known, there are still countries that impose severe restrictions and bans on vaping and its products.

Electronic cigarettes have become so common that the equipment associated with them is unlikely to raise eyebrows.

If you plan to travel with your vaping equipment, there are packaging rules that you will need to follow. These rules exist to ensure the safety of other passengers and yourself. These tips will also help vapers stay safe and minimize delays at the airport.

1. Find your destination

It’s a good idea to start by researching your destination’s rules and regulations on electronic cigarettes and its products.

Some vaping users have reported that their vaping equipment is reported and confiscated upon arrival in certain countries.

Japan, Finland, Norway, Australia and Denmark prohibit the local sale of e-liquid containing nicotine. They do, however, allow you to import the e-liquid for personal use.

On the other hand, countries like Brazil, Thailand, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong have severe penalties.

If you plan to travel to a country that restricts the use of vapers, leave your vaping equipment at home, don’t take any chances.

2. Read the airline rules

The popularity of vaping is currently quite high. Some airlines provide guidelines for traveling with vaping products on their websites. Different airlines have different laws, so you are advised to read carefully before picking up your vaping gear.

3. Pack e-liquids with other liquid items

Keep all of your liquid products together in one resealable plastic bag.

When passing through security checkpoints, most airports screen liquids separately. Keep in mind that a pod filled with e-liquid also counts as a liquid element.

It is important to note that the most liquid capacity you are allowed to travel with is 100ml. The most common e-juice containers have a capacity of 120ml, but online stores like Epuffer offer e-liquid amounts as low as 30ml.

4. Pack vaping gear and mods in a handbag

First of all, don’t forget to turn off your vaping device. Whether batteries or not, most airlines do not allow vaping devices to be carried in checked baggage.

As for the causes of electronic cigarette battery fires, the main reason is improper packaging in bags and pockets. Remove the battery from your mod before traveling or press the Firelock button to prevent unwanted fire from activating.

5. Protect the battery

Powerful energy sources include lithium-ion batteries. The batteries are powerful enough that they could power an electric car. Note that the metal case of the batteries is conductive and you need to be more careful. To prevent possible accidents, cover your battery terminals with tape and use a padded stand to transport them.

Some airlines also limit the number of batteries an individual can carry.

6. Empty your pod

When placing your capsule in your carry-on baggage, make sure it is empty to avoid accidental spills on your other devices, like a cell phone or laptop.

With the above tips, you will be able to travel with your vaping equipment much more comfortably and avoid unnecessary delays. Avoid vaping during your trip, especially in flight, as not everyone is enthusiastic about e-cigarettes.
